About Us

We, the Missionaries of the Holy Apostles of the United States Province, are a community of Priests and Brothers founded by Rev. Eusebe Menard in 1962.

Our Charism is to promote and form men to the priesthood and lay leaders for service in the Universal Church.

Our primary ministry in the United States is to provide priests and lay leaders that can serve the Church as spiritual directors, teachers, and professional staff members to Holy Apostles Seminary and College in Cromwell, CT.

Our spirituality is strengthened by the Mystical Body of Christ and finds its source in Jesus as Pastor, Prophet, and Priest. It is centered on the Eucharist, the Priesthood, and the Word of God.

Our lifestyle is inspired by the Holy Spirit and modeled after our patrons: the Apostles, Mary Queen of the Apostles, and Saint Francis of Assisi.

Members of the MSA live in the community whenever possible. Currently, we have two local communities in the United States Province.

– The Cromwell community is primarily focused on ministries at Holy Apostles College and Seminary.

– Members of the Washington D.C. community serve as hospital chaplains, are students at Catholic University, and assist in a variety of ministries supporting local parishes.

Other MSA members also serve at seminaries, retreat centers, and parishes throughout the United States.

The Society is international in nature and also has a province in Canada and delegations in Africa, Peru, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Members of the MSA are able to work in all geographic areas for the Society.

The Animator General for the MSA’s is the Very Rev. Luis Luna Barrera, M.S.A.

The Animator USA Provincial is the Very Rev. Martin D. Rooney, M.S.A.
